MS M.399, fol. 285v
Description:

Stephen Protomartyr: Stoning—Two men standing beside a basket of stones throw stones at a nimbed and tonsured Stephen Protomartyr, who is wearing deacon's vestments. He is kneeling with his joined hands raised. A stone is on his head, and he is bleeding. Above, God, wearing a triple-crowned tiara, appears in an arc of heaven. He sends rays of light toward Stephen. In the background, within a landscape, a man is seated on the ground mending a cloak.

The scene is framed by a decorative border.
