He is kneeling with his joined hands raised. A stone is on his head, and he is bleeding. Above, God, wearing a triple-crowned tiara, appears in an arc of heaven. He sends rays of light toward Stephen. In the background, within a landscape, a man is seated on the ground mending a cloak.
