MS G.55 fol. 113r
Description:

Christ: Crucifixion — Christ, portrayed wearing the crown of thorns and a short loincloth, is affixed to the cross with three nails and bleeding from the wounds to his hands and feet. The side wound is not visible. His head is inclined, and His eyes are open. He is flanked by the Virgin Mary, who is wearing a wimpled headdress and raising her right hand toward Him, and the Evangelist John, whose arms are crossed over his breast. Each of the three has rays as a nimbus. The scene is set in a landscape with hills, trees, a stream, and a city in background.
The margins are decorated with floreate ornament, including a strawberry and a viola, inhabited by a rabbit. A monogram of the initials A and P linked by a love knot is in the lower margin. Text, Suffrages.
