The Morgan Library & Museum Frequently Asked Questions
The Morgan Library & Museum and its programs are wheelchair accessible, based on Accessibility standards issued under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Standard-sized wheelchairs and seated-walkers are available for borrow during your visit if needed.
Visitors may leave and re-enter throughout the day for which they have purchased admission. They may not re-enter on a different day.
Admission is not required to enter the shop or the café, but is required to enter any of the galleries and historic library.
Current exhibitions are included with general museum admission. No additional tickets or reservations are needed. More ticketing information is available here.
Museum admission is not included with any Morgan Café dining orders, this includes Afternoon Tea.

Luggage or garment bags are not permitted in the museum and will not be checked into the coatroom. Neither are bicycles, scooters, skateboards or in-line or roller skates.
Sketching with pencils, sketchbooks, and notebooks is permitted, however, no pens, ink, paints, markers, easels, or stools are permitted. Sitting on the floor while sketching or taking notes is also not permitted.
The Morgan is a museum and non-circulating research library, which means its collections cannot be checked out or borrowed. However, qualified researchers are welcome to consult materials on-site in the Sherman Fairchild Reading Room by appointment.

All commercial photography and filming requests must be reviewed and approved by the Morgan. Approval is at the sole discretion of the museum. To be eligible, the requesting organization must be a Corporate Member. Approved projects are subject to location fees and must adhere to the museum’s filming and photography guidelines. Please fill out this form for consideration.
Formal, personal photography sessions—such as engagement, wedding, and graduation photography—are not permitted inside the museum or garden.
The Morgan is not able to appraise or authenticate books, manuscripts, artworks, or artifacts for members of the public. We recommend reaching out to a reputable art dealer, certified appraiser, or auction house for assistance.
The Morgan’s collections policy is highly selective. To have an object donation considered by the Morgan, please send an email to tickets@themorgan.org, indicating your intention to offer the work as a gift, along with detailed object information (artist, artist's dates, title, work date, medium, dimensions, provenance and insurance value if available). The Morgan will be in contact with you if interested in accepting the donation.
