Tu Vaggio Di Sergio is actually a true story about my grandfather, Sergio, who came to America in 1963 and met a man on his boat named Salvator. Several years later Sergio would go on to run into Salvator at a nearby restaurant in Little Italy. I tried to show the ups and downs of his journey through words and images. Most people made one image per page but I wanted to be different so I made one image across the book. My favorite part about this process was making the paints, because not many people get to make paint from beetle shells. While creating this book I learned that the main point of this project was to have fun experimenting and creating a meaningful book.
