My story is about a dog who is insecure about his height. The platypus fairy came and told Lisa she could make her taller, but there was a catch. Lisa realizes she was just perfect the way she was. I tried to tell a lot of the story with images, like when I placed the dog next to the ruler to show she was 5 inches tall. I created my book with fish glue, gold and crushed up bugs. I really wanted my story to teach a lesson. I know many people who don't like their size or how they look. I really wanted to inspire my readers to never doubt themselves. I learned it takes a lot of focus and hard work to finish an illuminated manuscript. It really taught me how far I can get when I take my time. It was really exciting to be able to write about something important to me and show it to others.
