The Dimension
The Dimension is about Tom, a fearful kid who accidentally ends up in an alternate dimension where he gradually becomes brave. The character “Tom” is inspired by me a few years ago, when I was scared of things like staying home alone or buying milk for breakfast by myself. My favorite part was doing the gold leaf because it was making my simple book more like the manuscripts in the Morgan Library. I wanted my gold leaf to grab the reader’s attention, thus putting it all in one area, my favorite illustration, Tom falling in complete darkness.
