Contains graphite pencil study drawings of drapery, heads of gorgons, nude male studies for Atlas and Aquarius, wings for Perseus, gurnards, etc. Included is a list, dated May 1921 and in Sir Sydney C. Cockerell's hand, on Fitzwilliam Museum stationery, of drawings formerly in the sketchbook and now in the Fitzwilliam Museum. Eleven leaves remaining.

The date is probably 1877. / SCC May 14 1920"; Identification of subject on each page inscribed in pencil at lower edge in Cockerell's hand.
