Inscriptions/Markings
Signed and dated below, "Edmund J. Sullivan. 1925"; captioned in pencil, "The Standard Bearer"; artist's note at lower right, "I would suggest a dragon for standard shield, crest, etc., as being fairly near the old "canting heraldry" - Drage & Dragon. A point for the copy writer might be made of the proverb "An Englishman's house is his castle." Here is Mr. Drage bearing the standard of his system into the stronghold. Rough sketch by Edmund J.
