Inscribed (signed?) on verso, at upper left, in a seventeenth-century hand, in brown ink, "Davidt Vinckeboons"; in a later hand in brown ink "£50-extra"; at lower left, in graphite, "Collection of the / Marquis Vindé / & Miss James"; at lower right, in black chalk, "No. 1367" (inventory number of the collection of Vicomte Morel de Vindé).
