Inscription: 

Inscribed on verso, in pen and brown ink, "giulio Romano"; illegible cancelled inscription, on top of this, "grossa"; followed by, in different hand, "nardi".
Watermark: Grapes, large bunch. Lining shows partial indecipherable watermark.

Provenance: 
Moscardo collection, Verona, which passed to Marquis de Calceolari (no mark; see under Lugt S. 2990a-g); purchased in Zurich in 1949 by Janos Scholz, New York (no mark; see Lugt S. 2933b).
