The drawing depicts Montfoort, a town on the Hollandse IJssel River, 8 miles west-southwest of Utrecht and must have been drawn at the same time as a view of the same group of buildings from the opposite direction, which was formerly on the Amsterdam and London art markets and is now in the collection of Mrs. John Steiner, MA.
