The drawing is part of the large series of "portraits" of castles and country houses in the provinces of Holland, Utrecht, and Gelderland, drawn by Roghman in 1646-7. A total of 247 drawings from the series, which originally numbered some 250 sheets, was catalogued in 1708 at the time of the Bentes sale. Although the drawings are now widely dispersed, some 222 are known today.
