Notes: 

A nearly identical urn appears in a signed painting by Moucheron in the collection of A.J.E. Cranstoun, Corehouse. In the painting, the medallion, which is left blank in the drawing, is filled with a relief depicting the "Rape of Europa".

Inscription: 

Inscribed on the verso, in graphite, at lower left, "LEGU"; at lower right, "R"; below this, in another hand, "D305D"; and below this, in still another hand, "LH. LHR N 13B".
Watermark: Fleur-de-lis in shield, surmounted by crown, over "4" and "WR" and cursive letters "ll", (Strasbourg lily).
