Drawing is a preparatory sketch for the 1664 painting of the same subject now in the Muzeum Narodowe, Warsaw.


Signed and dated at lower right, in brown ink, "JDB(in ligature)ray 1663". Inscribed on the old mount at lower left, in graphite, "del(?) Jan de Bray". Numbered on the verso of the mount, in graphite, at upper left corner, "191"; and at lower left corner, "292".
