An Evening with Nora Guthrie and Lorin Sklamberg

Nora Guthrie discusses the evolution of Woody Guthrie's ideas on spirituality with Lorin Sklamberg of The Klezmatics band, as well as the artistic impact of Woody's personal relationship with his Jewish mother-in-law, Yiddish poet Aliza Greenblatt. The program includes a multimedia presentation of archival lyrics, photographs, as well as rare family film footage and audio. Lorin Sklamberg performs songs from the Klezmatics' Grammy award-winning album Wonder Wheel  and Happy Joyous Hanukkah, which both are Woody Guthrie Jewish themed lyrics set to music by the Klezmatics.

*The exhibition Woody Guthrie: People are the Song will be open at 5:30 PM for program attendees
