Notes
Date from d'Allemagne.
The game board consists of a hand-colored, etched sheet. Two concentric tracks are divided into thirty-six and twenty squares that display various symbols, including six owls, tools, flowers, and fruits. Each space bears an abbreviated instruction to pay to, or take from the pool (P for 'payer', T for 'tirer') and the amounts are indicated on three dice. The tracks surround a circular center which displays an owl guarding a pool of gold pieces in a cornucopia.
The rules of the game are printed in two columns inside a framed rectangle at the bottom of the sheet.
This Game of Owl (of Antiquity) is comparable to the Game of Goose, a three-dice game of chance.
"d'Allemagne Collection"--pencilled note on back of print.
