Title and date penciled on the inside lid of box beside stationer's engraved label.
Game of Dauphin lotto invented by Louis XIV.
Containing 94 [of 96] circles, 125 [of 127] pins, 13 soldiers, 12 sailors, 7 dolphins, 18 ships, and 12 women on towers with telescopes. [JPW? penciled list inside the lid] All are in painted ivory and wood. The upper tray is used as the board with rows of holes along the left short side and in the lower right hand corner, to hold the pins and figures.
