18th-century French full calf over paper boards (47 x 33 cm), sewn on 6 supports, with gilt tooled spine with crowned heraldic emblems of a diamond and ermine (Soubise). Marbled paper pastedowns and endleaves, with plain paper endleaves; red edges.

Hand decoration: Contemporary Bruges illumination and rubrication, alternating red and blue initials, headlines, and paragraph marks; primary initials illuminated with floral decoration with flora/foliate borders. Annotations: Minimal contemporary notations in part III only. Contemporary manuscript alpha-numeric quire signatures, mostly visible in parts III-IV.
