Summary
Print shows the character of Rosalind from Shakespeare's "As you like it", dressed as a man and holding a long stick with a knotted end, walks (right to left) through the forest of Arden, indicated by trees, and a landscape background. She walks stooping forward, her profile with an aquiline nose and projecting chin gives her an elderly appearance. Cf. British Museum online catalogue.
