"II. Akt Reinschrift." On a back endpaper Strauss has written the text from "Sophie: Um keinen Preis geh ich an seiner Hand hinein!" to B[aron Ochs] "(mit Grandezza): ... dass ich mit Ihm nicht übereinander käm" (libretto, p. 81-83).

Notes: 

Sketches for three sections of Act II: the beginning of the act to the start of the duet for Sophie and Oktavian (Presentation of the Rose), 7 measures after rehearsal number 38; the entrance of Annina and Valzacchi to Baron Ochs's "Is gut, is gut," rehearsal number 129 to 4 measures after rehearsal number 216; and the conclusion of the act from Ochs's "Herr Medicus, verfüg er sich voraus" (rehearsal number 234) to the end. There are also several isolated sketches.
