Notes:

Ms. single leaves; the backs of the leaves contain portions of text and music (four-line staves) from an antiphonary, the miniatures were illuminated in the late 19th, early 20th century.
Decoration: M.1198.1: rabbit hunt; M.1198.2: Saint admonishing two bathers.
Artist: Spanish Forger.
The leaves have been assigned the numbers L237 (M.1098.1) and L240 (M.1098.2) in the ongoing census of the Spanish Forger by William Voelkle. Both works were sold as the Spanish Forger, but the Druout catalog described the subject of MS M.1198.2 as "St. Francis with Two Danaides." This title is without justification, as these bathing women are not danaides. As usual, the forger scraped the text and music from one side of the page and added the miniature to the roughened surface.
