17th/18th-century Italian plain vellum over paper boards (30 x 22.5 cm.), sewn on 4 supports. Plain paper pastedowns and fly leaves; decorative endbands; sprinkled edges.

Hand decoration: Rubricated, contemporary northern Italian red and blue lombards, with red penwork decoration on major initial and illuminated armorial (leaf [3]/1r). Annotations: A few contemporary marginal notations and manicules. Both tabula numbered, foliation (mainly trimmed) with a box/L-bracket. Leaf [31]/2 replaced with a contemporary manuscript copy by Benedictus de Silvestris (Benedetto Silvestri, papal notary in Ferrara) of a document by Thebaldus de Thebaldis (Tebaldo Tebaldi, notary and secretary to Ercole I d'Este, Duke of Ferrara) dated 31 Oct. 1498.
