18th/19th-century Italian diced half calf, with glazed paper sides, over paper boards (41.5 x 29 cm), sewn on 4 supports, with Strozzi armorial stamp on spine. Plain paper pastedowns and endleaves, with plani vellum front endleaf; stuck-on endbands.
Inscriptions/Markings
Hand decoration: Contemporary illuminated white vine intial (leaf a2r), remainder of rubrication unrealized. 18th/19th-century illuminated Strozzi armorial (leaf a2r). Annotations: No marginal notations in text.

Alfonso Strozzi (1467-1534), inscription: "Alphonsi strozae & amicorum" (front endleaf 2 verso), Strozzi family armorial: gold, band of red with 3 silver crescent moons, probably modern addition (leaf a2r) and crowned armorial stamp of three crescent moons with the surrounding motto: Expecto, 18th/19th century (leaf a1r); Pierpont Morgan Library, purchased from E.
