Modern full brown goatskin, blind-tooled in an elaborate retrospective style, over paper boards (28 x 20.5 cm.), sewn on 5 supports by Duprez-Lahey. Marbled paper pastedowns and fly leaves, with plain paper fly leaves; decorative endbands.

Inscriptions/Markings
Hand decoration: Rubricated, contemporary red initials, some paragraph marks highlighted in red, and other textual highlights over-written in red (done assiduously until c3v then ceases entirely after d2v). Annotations: Contemporary marginal notations in at least two hands, throughout, and two sets of foliation.

Ralph Hulme, of Manchester, inscription: "Iste liber pertinet Radulpho hulme de manchestur In comitate lacncastre," 16th century (leaf I6r; same provenance as a copy of Natura brevium in Cambridge, King's College); unidentified 18th/19th-century "collated and perfect" inscriptions (leaf A1r and I6v); Pierpont Morgan (1837-1913), purchased from Bernard Quaritch, June 1903.
