19th-century German 1/4 black leather, with sides covered in red velvet, over wooden boards (29 x 40 cm), with 18th-century pierced and embossed silver centerpieces, bosses, and clasp. Front centerpiece includes armorial of Scharffenstein family, rear centerpiece depicts St. Rupert and the Munich Frauenkirche. Metalwork by Munich silversmith MS, perhaps Michael Spindler (d. 1783) or Martin Spitzelburger (active 1760-), see documents in folder in volume. Plain paper pastedowns and endleaves (renewed?); gilt edges.
