Delirium: The Art of the Symbolist Book
Luc Sante’s The Other Paris (2015) was described by Hilton Als as “a heartbreaking spectacle, immense in intellectual and political scope and emotional reach.” The acclaimed writer takes the stage at the Morgan to discuss the personalities and works of four 19th-century French illustrators who figure in his book—J. J. Grandville, Honoré Daumier, Paul Gavarni, and Théophile Steinlen—all of whom illuminated the city with particular genius and flair.
