This exhibition explores the recent growth of the Morgan's collection of drawings made before 1900.

British artist Bridget Riley (b. 1931) is one of the most celebrated abstract painters of her generation. This exhibition—the first dedicated exclusively to her drawings in over fifty years—provides an intimate view of Riley's studio practice, in which the making of works on paper plays a central role.

The Morgan’s collections continually grow and evolve. This presentation features a selection of drawings newly acquired by the Department of Drawings and Prints, which focuses on work created before 1900.

In the century since its founding as a public institution, the Morgan’s collections have grown dramatically, deepening the core assembled by J. Pierpont Morgan and his librarian, Belle da Costa Greene, who became the first Director of the institution.

The Morgan celebrates the 1913 publication of Swann's Way with a fascinating selection of the author's notebooks, preliminary drafts, galley-proofs, and other documents from the collection of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France.

The exhibition celebrates this most common form of documentation by presenting an array of lists made by a broad range of artists, from Pablo Picasso and Alexander Calder to H. L. Mencken, Eero Saarinen, Elaine de Kooning, and Lee Krasner.

Illuminating the Medieval Hunt features nearly fifty miniatures from the Morgan's celebrated hunting manuscript by Gaston Phoebus (1331–1391), Le Livre de la chasse (Paris, ca. 1407).

Drawn entirely from the museum's holdings, Tiepolo, Guardi, and Their World features a selection of more than one hundred works on paper and chronicles the vitality and originality of drawing during Venice's second Golden Age.

This exhibition comprised nearly sixty lavish single leaves, dating from the twelfth to the sixteenth centuries.
