Songs from A Book of Days
Eve Beglarian
Integrating words, music, photography, and video, contemporary composer Eve Beglarian presents “Songs from A Book of Days,” drawing inspiration from illuminated manuscripts and writers through the ages. Conceived in 2001, A Book of Days, seeks to create one piece for each day of the year. As Beglarian says, “I think of these pieces as mulling over pieces, made in the spirit of everyday commonplace books, collections of found thought that please me, and of medieval books of days”. Featuring Eve Beglarian, vocals and electronics, Tony Arnold, Eli Berman, Jeffrey Gavett, vocals, Thomas Feng, piano, and Al Cerulo, percussion. Concert held in conjunction with Now and Forever: The Art of Medieval Time.

"For the listener, the result is stimulation of the imagination, an opportunity to
share a wondrous journey." Paul Freeman, San Jose Mercury News

"Beglarian is a humane, idealistic rebel and a musical sensualist." Mark Swed, Los Angeles Times

The exhibition Now and Forever: The Art of Medieval Time will be open at 6:30 pm for concert attendees.
