Missing Words explores the relationship between the written word and music through a collection of pieces by contemporary composers. The performance blends the experience of a concert with a poetry reading.

Christopher Cerrone, New Addresses. A three movement work inspired by Kenneth    Koch’s book of poetry of the same title. (New York Premiere)

Eric NathanMissing Words VI. Inspired by Ben Schott’s Schottenfreude.

Laura Kaminsky, Uncover. Inspired by the Morgan’s first edition of The Book of American Negro Poetry, edited by James W. Johnson in a personally inscribed version to George Gershwin. (World Premiere)

Nina C. Young, new work in collaboration with poet Rosie Stockton. (New York Premiere)

This concert will take place in the Morgan's Gilder Lehrman Hall.
