Tickets:
$25; $10 for Morgan Members.

Limited Availability. Your ticket includes both sessions of the workshop.

Join Morgan educator and teaching artist Azi Amiri for a two part hands-on virtual workshop exploring the exhibition Shahzia Sikander: Extraordinary Realities and creating your own artwork inspired by Sikander's drawings. The workshop's first session will reflect the artist's practice in investigating manuscript painting by close examination of folios from Morgan's collection and practicing the different drawing techniques. (Technique: Drawing with pencil or brush. Required material: Paper, pencil, or brush) Following Shahzia's journey, the second session will use the traditional visual elements to create hybrid imageries that center around identity, a recurrent theme in her works. (Technique: Collage and mixed media. Required material: Paper, hardcopy of a personal image, magazines, glue stick, watercolor, or any coloring material.)

Please note that the program will take place online. After registering, participants will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to participate using Zoom. We ask that you download the app in advance for the best user experience.
