The ancient Mesopotamian cylinder seals in the collection of the Morgan are amongst the finest in the world. Sidney Babcock, Jeannette and Jonathan Rosen Curator and Department Head, will discuss what cylinder seals are, why they were important for antiquity, and their importance for us today in understanding the visual reality of the Mesopotamians.

Mr. Morgan’s Library will be open at 5:30 pm for program attendees.
