Development Associate (Institutional Giving)

Responsibilities

The Morgan Library & Museum invites applications for the position of Development Associate - Institutional Giving, reporting to the Director of Institutional Giving. The Development Associate provides essential support as it relates to securing funding from a diverse portfolio of institutional donors who support unrestricted and restricted operating support—especially exhibitions—and other special projects throughout the Museum. The Development Associate is responsible for creating compelling proposals, attachments, reports, and other key fundraising materials for school programs, general operations, and exhibitions in particular, as well as managing various administrative duties and providing direct support to the Director on a wide variety of projects.

Qualifications
  • B.A. Degree; interest in the arts and humanities preferred 
  • Two to three years of nonprofit fundraising experience required. 
  • Minimum of one year of experience in Institutional Giving/grants preferred. 
  • Highly developed writing skills. 
  • Ability to critically evaluate and synthesize information from multiple sources 
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with keen attention to detail. 
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills 
  • Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with other departments. 
  • Familiarity with reading budgets and other financial documents. 
  • Donor/CRM database experience required; Raiser’s Edge/NXT or Humanitru experience preferred. 
  • Prospect research database experience preferred. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required; Design skills including Adobe InDesign and/or Photoshop preferred. 
  • Occasional evening hours are needed for events and programs.
Compensation

$58,000–$62,000 Annually; excellent benefits.
