Inscribed at lower center of frame, "P.B. Shelley". Pasted on back of the frame is the following inscription in the hand of Leigh Hunt, "Genoa, October 17, 1822 / This minature was given to me by my poor dear / friend Shelley in the presence of Lord Byron. / Leigh Hunt."
