Ms. bible leaves (cuttings); written and illuminated in eastern France, probably Lorraine, in the last decade of the 13th century.
Includes the commentary of Berengarius.
These four miniatures, another four in the Pierpont Morgan Library (M.1043.1-2), and sixty-eight others were excised from one manuscript for insertion into an album of cuttings made for the Basel silk merchant Daniel Burckhardt-Wildt (1752-1819).
Two leaves (cuttings), painted on recto and verso.
Decoration: 4 half-page miniatures; French Gothic style.
M.1071.1 was fols. 27r and 27v in the original foliation.
M.1071.2 was fols. 28r and 28v in the original foliation.
