Woodcuts by Master WB (possibly identified as Wolfgang Beurer, see J. P. Filedt Kok, "Master WB," in Grove Art Online); the artist's monogram has a staff with a snake wrapped around it between the initials. Woodcut battle scene signed "hr" (leaves e8r, h7r, r4r, s7r, t8r, L4r, etc.) and scene of a prince before a city gate signed "h" (leaves g1v, i6v, r3v, A6r, etc.).
Colophon and device (leaf n4r) printed in red.

17th/18th-century parchment over stiff paper boards (29.8 x 22 cm) on 4 parchment straps; spine stained red with gilt tooling with added gilt-leather spine label. Yapp foredges. Enbroidered endbands.
Inscriptions/Markings
A few contemporary marginal notes. Notes in an early sixteenth-century German hand for the years 1571-73 (leaf n4); note date 1585 (leaf h3v). Note in (eighteenth-century?) French hand on Conrad Botho (first fly leaf recto).
