Notes
Watermark: None.
An impression on Japanese paper in which a fairly even film of ink covers the entire sheet. A more localized application of tone darkens the saint's robe. On the verso of this impression there is an offset of an old inscription in Dutch, written in a cursive hand. It has yet to be fully deciphered. (Boston 1969, no. 103)
The whole plate has been elaborated by etching supplemented with burin work. Particular attention has been given to further description of the landscape setting. A second signature and date have been added over the first. (Boston 1969, p. 154)
