Gordon, 2021: "Je suis très touché Monsieur de l'attention de M. le Cte (comte) de Moltke, faites moy (moi) le plaisir de me mander sy (si) vous croyés (croyais) qu'un tapis de la Savonnerie, ou des fauteuils des Gobelins puissent luy donné plaire. Sy c'est un tapis, madés (mandez) moi a peu près la longueur, et la largeur de son sallon de compagnie. Mr de Choiseul me paraist tres content de vous, j'en suis fort aisé Monsieur par l'interest que je prends a vous, et dont j'espère que vous estes bien persuadé."

Please let me know if you think a rug from the Savonnerie, or some armchairs from the Gobelins may please him. If it's a rug, tell me about the length and width of his Salon de Compagnie. Mr de Choiseul seems to me very happy with you. I am very well off, sir, for the interest I take in you, and of which I hope you are fully convinced."
