Concerning a possible visit by the Queen to Birmingham; saying that he had conveyed a letter from the Mayor of Birmingham expressing the hope that she might attend the opening of a park in May or of June; relaying her response and saying that she intends to come to Birmingham but "Her Majesty is not able at the present moment to say whether Her other engagements will allow of Her doing so in the month of May or June"; proposing the following: "If, when the time approaches nearer, the Mayor will repeat his request, should circumstances be favourable for such a visit, Her Majesty will have much pleasure in arranging the precise time for gratifying the wishes of her loyal Subjects of Birmingham and the neighbourhood."
