"The Pipe of Desire. an Opera in One Act[...] Text by George Edward Barton." At the end: "Lake Sunapee, N.H. Aug. 12, 1905." At head of title: "This is the original orchestral score of "The Pipe of Desire" and was used at its first performance at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York; it being the first American opera to be brought out there. Presented to Mr. J. P Morgan by the composer. Frederick S. Converse June 15, 1918."
