The 2022 Morgan Book Project exhibition of illuminated manuscripts made by New York City students in grades 3–12 features the annual selection of 12 judges’ picks and the singular Director’s Choice.

The exhibition features approximately ninety highly influential texts and outstanding works of art, providing a compelling overview of ideas championed by the Romantics and also implemented by them in private estates and public parks in Europe and the United States, notably New York's Central Park.

Over the last several years, the Morgan has acquired a critical mass of the Claude Master's work, of which nearly two dozen items will be featured in this exhibition.

One of the most celebrated contemporary German artists, Georg Baselitz (b. 1938) gained international recognition in the 1960s for revitalizing figurative painting. This exhibition celebrates the gift from Baselitz to the Morgan of fifty drawings covering the span of his entire career.

This exhibition presents Mesopotamian sculptural works from ca. 3300-2250 B.C., bringing together for the first time pieces from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Yale University Babylonian Collection, the Kimbell Art Museum, and the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology.

This New Yorker bouquet is drawn from the extraordinary collection of over 1300 drawings for the magazine assembled by Melvin R. Seiden.

Drawn entirely from the museum's holdings, Tiepolo, Guardi, and Their World features a selection of more than one hundred works on paper and chronicles the vitality and originality of drawing during Venice's second Golden Age.

The brilliant and celebrated writer, dramatist, aesthete, wit, and self-proclaimed "lord of language" was the focus of Oscar Wilde: A Life in Six Acts, originally organized by the British Library. Wilde's (1854–1900) rise to success as a literary and social figure was meteoric. His decline to notoriety and disgrace was equally dramatic. Twelve years after publishing his first work of fiction, in 1888, he was dead at the age of forty-six, buried in a pauper's grave on the outskirts of Paris.

Held by a private collection, this magnificent painting will be shown in the United States for the very first time at the Morgan.
