This is a design for a blotter holder, designed by Burne-Jones as a wedding present for Laura Tennant (1862-1886), one of the London “Souls” and a muse to the artist, when she married Alfred Lyttelton (1857-1913) in 1885. The design was executed in silver but seems not to survive.
