Notes
This handsome sheet, with its double loggia and clusters of beautifully rendered dadoed columns, bears comparison with designs in Architetture, e prospettive, a volume of engravings dedicated to Charles VI with depictions of court performances, sacred theater, and catafalques honoring the members of the imperial family. The architecture depicted in this drawing is especially close to that in plate 7 of the volume, the courtyard set designed for a production marking the 1719 wedding of Prince Frederick Augustus of Saxony and Archduchess Maria Josefa in Vienna.
