Notes:

Renouf creates minimalist abstract paintings and drawings developed from her close attention to subtle properties of materials. This drawing is part of a series of eleven "Letters to Spring." She relates each one to some quality of the season. To create this work, she rubbed oil pastel into the paper and applied lines with ink, also incising lines into the paper with an etching point.
