Notes:

Since the 1990s, Zeller has created intricate drawings inspired by advanced imaging technologies, such as electron micrographs, underwater marine photography, and other two-dimensional translations of the three-dimensional world. He transforms technology into meticulous craft in his graphite and ink drawings, which he describes as "an intuitive response to the parallels and contradictions inherent in the enormous variety of imagery available to us now." The biomorphic forms of this drawing suggest the rending of a mysterious organism. The illusion is disturbed, however, by the presence of an arrow sign, a surface feature, as the title indicates, that hints at the artist's graphic sources.
