Holden's rendering of Benjamin Wistar Morris's final design for the Annex to the Morgan Library captures the position of the building on the corner of 36th Street and Madison Avenue with McKim, Mead, and White's 1906 Library adjacent to the new edifice. Dated January 1927, this sketch was made a year and roughly nine months before the Pierpont Morgan Library opened its doors as a public institution.
