Original watercolor of a design for a "yellow-back" cover for an edition of the Matthew Henry Barker novel Nights at Sea; published by the firm of Richard Bentley, probably sometime during the 1850's.
Lettered within design: Nights at Sea By the Old Sailor [struck out in pen] Cooper [at head] One Shilling [struck out in pen] & Sixpence [at foot] London Bentley.
