Kraemer, Ruth S. "Drawings by Gravelot in the Morgan Library." Master drawings, XX (Spring 1982), p. 14, no. 57.

Gravelot's design has not been related to an illustration appearing in a published volume. The classical figure of a woman is shown standing with a palm or wreath in her right hand and her left hand raised in a dramatic gesture; she is surrounded by symbols of sacred and heroic poetry, and Pegasus is shown on the wing at upper left. See 1968.15:38 for a related drawing, as yet unconnected to a publication.
