This is one of two designs by Gravelot for an engraved headpiece in Abbé de Clozest's "Oraison Funèbre de Charlotte Godefride-Elisabeth de Rohan-Soubise, Princesse de Condé ..." (Paris : Prault fils, 1760). It was engraved by Noël Le Mire and the published vignette bears the title "Mausolée." A funeral monument is shown surmounted by an urn and flanked by two grieving female figures and cupids. See also 1963.13:17.
