Original drawing by Jack B. Yeats for an advertising poster for his children's play, "James Flaunty, or, The Terror of the Western Seas" (London : Elkin Mathews, 1901).
Rectangle of blue-gray paper pasted at head on verso, securing a loop of red cloth ribbon from which to hang the sign.

On verso, in pencil, "Jack B. Yeats"; with two small decorations in teal ink, one of which appears to be a design for the artist's monogram, the other evidently depicting a tower or lighthouse.

From the library of Gordon N. Ray.

Drawing shows a pirate brandishing a cutlass and pistol and striking a pose above the lettering of the sign.
