Notes
An American artist based in London, Linda Karshan has concentrated on drawings and prints since the early 1990s. Her recent work, dominated by motifs of grids, rows, and stacks, belongs to the minimalist tradition. The present sheet was made by squeezing graphite pulp paint into the white paper pulp during the paper-making process. It combines the regularity of the grid with the expressive quality of the gesture by which the artist freely traced each line.
